Beeches at Lanternside

Holystone is about 45 minutes drive from Newcastle and 20 miles from the A1 which is the easiest way to drive from most places in England.  From Scotland, the best route is likely to be via Jedburgh and down the A68 where you turn off through Otterburn and Elsdon.

If you wish to travel by public transport, we will arrange transport from a Newcastle metro station accessible from both the airport and the central station. Mats and props are provided in the classes so there is no need to be weighed down by yoga equipment.  Easyjet flies from Stansted and there is an excellent high-speed train service on the East Coast main line from Kings Cross. Cheap tickets may be available if you book three months in advance.

There is no public transport to Holystone itself.  The nearest bus stop is two miles away in Harbottle and that only has one bus a week to Alnwick for shopping.  Thropton, five miles away, has an hourly bus service to Rothbury, Morpeth and Newcastle.  Otherwise, if you have no transport of your own, and feel the need to get away from the village, you have to rely on lifts or local taxi firms.
